Our Consultants

Charlaine Apsel has been the Executive Director of the Parish Resource Center in Rocky Point for 5 years. She has worked for, served as a board member or volunteered at not-for-profits beginning at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory as Director of Finance and Marketing over thirty years ago. 

Experience: Church Treasurer, Workshop Leader on Stewardship and financial matters, QuickBooks advisor, choir member and song leader at worship, Hospice volunteer

Jeanne Baum,

Education: Union Theological Seminary, MDiv; SUNY Stony Brook MA in Sociology, UMass BA Edu. and Sociology

Experience: Retired Pastor of Old South Haven Presbyterian Church, yoked the last three years of pastorate with Brookfield Presbyterian; fair housing counselor for Long Island Housing Services; nursery school teacher and director. Since her retirement, Jeanne has served as the interim pastor for Springs Community Presbyterian Church (Easthampton) and supply pastor for First Presbyterian Church in Southampton.  In addition, she has provided pastoral leadership for Brentwood Presbyterian, Grace Presbyterian in Selden, and Middle Island Presbyterian during times of transition. She has often also led the annual Presbyterian Women’s Retreat at Cor Maria, Sag Harbor.

Nancy Hall, Education: SUNY Stonybrook, MA in English; Coker College BA in English. Experience: Associate Professor of English(retired), Suffolk County Community College;

Experience: Coordinator of RCIA program, Infant Jesus RC Church; Facilitator for Women’s Group, Infant Jesus Church, Lector and Extraordinary Minister of the Eucharist; volunteer docent, Sagamore Hill National Historic Site, Oyster Bay

Debbie Kolacki, Education: Wagner College, BA in English, recently completed web-based training program developed by the Department of Religion and Philosophy at Columbia College leading to certification as a Christian educator in the UMC

Experience: Local Lay Speaker in the United Methodist Church, Church Librarian, Education Committee Chairperson, Sunday School Superintendent, Council on Ministries Chairperson, children’s Sunday School and VBS teacher, Disciple and other adult studies leader.

Elaine Lamagna, Education:  12 years of Catholic education; completed the Basic and Advanced Diocesan certifications, and attended numerous workshops and seminars over the course of 25 years, including seminars from St. John’s University and Catholic University of America.  Elaine has hands-on experience in religious education and faith formation ranging from pre-school, primary grades, tweens, teens and adult faith formation.  As the Director of Religious Education at Sts. Peter and Paul Church, Manorville for the last 7 years, she has extensive experience in working with parents and children, as well as the administrative experience of creating, implementing and running faith formation programs and sacrament preparation classes.
